Jam Music Lab Presents: Miles & Coltrane

Featuring Agnes Lakatos (Vocals, Liszt Academy Budapest), Tibor Csuhaj Barna (Bass, Liszt Academy Budapest), Monika Herzig (Piano, Jam Music Lab University) and Students from the Jam Music Lab University

In celebration of the Centennial of Miles Davis and John Coltrane, Jam Music Lab University Research Lab under the direction of Monika Herzig with guests from the Liszt Academy Budapest present a set of music by Miles Davis and John Coltrane followed by an open jam session. Agnes Lakatos (Vocals) and Tibor Csuhaj Barna(Bass) are Professors at the Liszt Ferenc Academy Budapest and two of Hungary’s leading jazz musicians. Monika Herzig is a US-based award-winning jazz pianist and Vice Rector at Jam Music Lab.

Internationally acclaimed drummer Klemens Marktl presents his trio with bass virtuoso Milan Nikolic and special guest Seamus Blake on tenor saxophone. Blending European elegance with American energy, the group performs original compositions and modern jazz arrangements—an intense, groove-driven concert full of creative interplay and improvisation

Triple Ace – Colours in Jazz brings together three of Austria’s most distinctive jazz musicians: Oliver Kent (piano), Uli Langthaler (double bass), and Dušan Novakov (drums). Their colorful original compositions blend jazz tradition with contemporary influences and surprising grooves, creating an energetic and open group sound.

On May 9 at Jazzcafé ZWE, the trio will be joined by outstanding German tenor saxophonist Johannes Enders, an internationally acclaimed soloist known for his powerful tone, stylistic versatility, and compelling musical expression.
